The horse and wild clover
The princess was lost in the forest and did not know in which direction to walk when she saw a big horse graze upon a field of wild clover.
It looked even more lost then she was. Although the horse may have been of track, it seemed at peace with it. The horse smelled the gras and enjoyed the breeze that accompanied the afternoon sun. How can something so lost be at ease like that, the princess asked herself. She felt confused.
A few moments later a knight appeared. He wasn't wearing armor but carried his sword on his belt. The princess hid away so he wouldn't see her. He reminded her of her father, turning grey and walked with a firm tread. He whistled at the horse but it didn't seem to be inclined into paying any attention to it.
Instead of responding to the command, it only drove the horse further away. The knight kept persisting until the horse got so fed up, it started to rear at him. He froze, felt like he couldn't move a wink. What next?
The princess felt obliged to offer her assistance but found herself unable to move. All she was able to was to watch the play that was accuring right in front of her. She felt like her body abandoned her but realized it was actually her mind keeping her feet from moving.
She watched as the knight drew his sword and commanded the horse to subdue itself. The horse rebelled by kicking away the sword and while the sword swung in the air, it cut into the knight's right leg.
The princess realized the knight was now also unable to move. He must have felt powerless.
The knight now seemed to realize he couldn't overpower the horse by commanding it to surrender. He tried a different approach by closing his eyes and kneeling down in front of the raging horse. He held out one hand and covered his wound with the other.
For a few seconds he remained in that submissive position until something miraculous happened. The horse went completely quiet and bowed down towards the knight.
It was a forgiving sight for the princess when she saw the horse resting his head into the knight's palm.
A tingle circled trough the princesses foot. She wanted to meet the knight and his horse now. But when she looked up, they where gone.
She remembered her way back home and whilst taking of her boots, she found a wild clover on the ground. She smiled knowing the spectacle she just witnessed, was in fact not an illusion.
